featuring Harlem Renaissance Orchestra
with special guest Billy Harper
featuring the Third Annual Ambassador Prize Dance Contest

Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 6:00
Dance Lesson at 6:30, Live Music at 7:30

The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra has closed the Midsummer Night Swing season every year since 2004, when the torch was passed by the late great tenor sax player Illinois Jacquet. This year, they’re joined by the fiery jazz saxophonist Billy Harper. It’s the kind of potent music that’s tailor-made for dancing, and dancers will be pulling out their best moves for the third annual dance contest in memory of lindy hop pioneer Frankie Manning.
